Curriculum

Sra. Burket was born and raised in Lima Perú. She studied at the UNIFE University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Education and she received a professional teaching degree in Special Education. She also completed a Postgraduate Course in Havana, Cuba. Sra. Burket enjoys working with children and being part of the children’s lives as they go through their early learning period. Mariela is going on her 10th year working at RSI. When Mariela is not teaching children in our school, she likes to listen and dance Latin music. She also loves visiting her relatives in Florida and Perú. 

Chen Laoshi has was an English teacher in China for seven years, where she obtained her bachelor degree in International Trade. Then she acquired her Montessori preschool teacher credential in the U.S. She worked in Montessori preschool for four years and has been working at RSI for 8 years. She believes that every child has the ability to learn and should be given the opportunity, that’s why she stays in this field of education and ensures that she gives each child her best. In her spare time, she likes traveling and cooking. She also enjoys spending time with her kids.

Sra. Guzman grew up in Garden Grove California. She graduated from California State Dominguez Hills with her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development. Sra. Guzman has been a teacher at RSI as a Preschool Spanish teacher in L3 since 2018.  She enjoys working with the little ones and is always excited to see their growth throughout the school year.  She is a mother to four children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her children.

Sra. Milliken graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor degree in Child and Adolescent Development. Before graduating from school, she worked in an elementary school in Brea, CA. and has experience working with children in kindergarten and third grade. Sra. Milliken was born and raised in México, and she understands the importance of becoming proficient in another language. She is married and has two beautiful daughters. During her free time, she enjoys reading, going to the movies, and traveling with her family, including their French Poodle Maximus. Sra. Milliken is passionate about teaching children to appreciate it other cultures and their traditions.

With over 30yrs of experience with preschoolers, Mrs Wheaton is excited to join the Seaside team from Cypress Early Explorers Preschool. She is a dedicated grandmother and loves to spend all her time with her kids and fiance.

Guo Laoshi holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from Irvine Community College and has furthered her studies in Education at Hunan xiangtan University College. Her expertise spans education, linguistics, and second language acquisition. Her exceptional enunciation of standard Mandarin ensures students learn authentic pronunciation.
